Polish government is sticking to its plans to develop nuclear power generation capacities in parallel with shale gas projects to diversify its energy sources, PM Donald Tusk told reporters on Thursday.
"The nuclear power project will still be government's strategic goal along with shale gas, nothing has changed in this respect," Tusk said, adding that the nuclear and shale gas projects constitute foundation for broad-based energy sources diversification.
Comments follow a Wednesday statement of PGE CEO Krzysztof Kilian that nuclear and shale gas project cannot be conducted in parallel.
While Tusk admitted that he understands concerns of companies on finding sources of financing for all the projects, he said that Treasury-controlled companies will be carrying out state's policy.
