Notre Dame in Polish
The musical version of novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo, directed by Ramunas Marcinkus, will be staged Nov. 13-21 in Gdynia, Bydgoszcz, £ód¼, Wroc³aw, Poznań and Zabrze with a closing performance in Warsaw.

The story of Quasimodo, the ugly bell-ringer adopted by the Archdeacon of Notre Dame in Paris, has been staged all over the world, from Hugo’s home country of France to Belgium and England to theaters in Las Vegas.

Confined inside the cathedral walls all his life, Quasimodo ventures out of Notre Dame during the Festival of Fools, aided by his friends, three stone gargoyles. In the crowd he spots a beautiful girl named Esmeralda, falling hopelessly in love with her.

The score for Notre Dame was written by Riccardo Cocciante, known for his music collaboration with Garou, while the lyrics were written by Luc Plamondon. The show, starring Polish actors, is suitable for audiences of all ages. Tickets cost zl.60-200.

The famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will play at the Kongresowa Hall in Warsaw Dec. 4.

Every year, the orchestra plays around 300 concerts in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Since the death of Glenn Miller, who founded the band, they have performed as The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra.

Along with new compositions, the band will play the familiar tunes of “Moonlight Serenade,” “In the Mood” and “I’ve Got a Girl in Kalamazoo.” In Warsaw, the orchestra will be conducted by Wil Salden.

Tickets zl.70-250.
