More than 100 diplomats, businesspeople and members of the Belgian Business Chamber gathered in the beautiful surroundings of Chojnata Palace in Rawa Mazowiecka county 80 kilometers from Warsaw Sept. 11 to celebrate the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union, which began July 1 and will continue until the end of the year.

Among the invited guests where Raoul Delcorde, the Belgian ambassador to Poland, Józef Matysiak, head of Rawa Mazowiecka county, and a host of local government officials.

Participants enjoyed an evening of conversation and music, which included a marimba concert by the Axoum Duo and songs of Jacques Brel performed by Agnieszka Fatyga. They could also admire a new masterpiece by famous Polish painter Edward Dwurnik, fittingly entitled Brussels.

The celebration also featured raffle prizes, which included Belgian beers and chocolates as well as gifts from The Warsaw Voice, the media sponsor of the event.
