Promoting Eastern Poland
November 30, 2010
Article's tools:

The Economic Promotion of Eastern Poland project, part of measure 1.4 of the Development of Eastern Poland Operational Program, aims to promote the macroregion as an attractive investment location for Polish and international enterprises. The project has been carried out through long-term, coordinated communication and information campaigns designed to systematically enhance the economic competitiveness and appeal of the region, its companies, products, services, capital, cities and other sites.

The project promotes five provinces in eastern Poland: Lublin, Podkarpacie, Podlaskie, ¦więtokrzyskie, and Warmia-Mazuria. It is the first project of this kind to simultaneously cover all provinces in the macroregion and deliver a well-considered and cohesive presentation of the economic potential inherent in the area. It thus helps draw the attention of potential entrepreneurs to the economic opportunities presented by the five provinces in eastern Poland. Such increased interest is the primary objective of the project, as it will give momentum to the social and economic development of eastern Poland, in keeping with the principles of sustainable development, which is the strategic goal of the Development of Eastern Poland Operational Program. The project is being carried out from 2009 to 2015.

Main goals:
• increase the flow of foreign direct investment to the macroregion;
• encourage Polish companies to invest in eastern Poland;
• stimulate exports of products and services from eastern Poland;
• boost the development of tourism in the macroregion.
