The Glenn Miller Big Band Sound

The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, an offshoot of the original big band established by legendary trombonist, composer, arranger and leader Glenn Miller (1904-1944) in the 1930s, will be appearing at the Kongresowa Hall in Warsaw on Dec. 4. The orchestra is regarded by many as the best big band in the world.

Miller disappeared in a plane crash in the English Channel in 1944, while en route to entertain U.S. troops in France. Band member and close friend Gordon “Tex” Beneke (1914-2000) decided to continue the orchestra. They have been performing continuously ever since, giving around 300 concerts a year.

So brace yourself for all those hits that once dominated the upper reaches of the charts—“Moonlight Serenade,” “In the Mood,” “Tuxedo Junction,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo” and “(I’ve Got a Gal in) Kalamazoo.”
