Internet security company Check PointSoftware Technologies Ltd. has announced that its Check Point Abra system has won the prestigious Product of 2010 award from Networld Magazine in Poland, in the virtualization category.

Over 1,000 readers have voted in the magazine’s fifth annual contest to select the best security and IT products in the local market. Check Point Abra has been recognized for its innovation in changing the way mobile users work, providing secure access to corporate data and files anytime and anywhere.

“This award is a testament from our customers and experts in the IT security community,” said David Klusacek, regional director for Check Point in Eastern Europe. “It confirms the success of Check Point in delivering user-friendly, affordable and efficient products that make business life easier for our customers. Businesses have seen a significant growth of their mobile work force over the past few years and are under increased pressure to reduce costs, operate efficiently and secure their data on the go. As this trend continues upward, Check Point Abra brings a new, simple and cost-effective solution to organizations with increased remote access needs.”

Check Point Abra is a revolution for remote workers, the company says. By instantly turning any PC into a secure corporate desktop, enterprises can allow users to safely access their corporate emails, applications and files anytime, anywhere—through integrated virtual private network (VPN) connectivity. Hardware and software encryption protect the data stored on the device, while its virtualization technology isolates the work session, making sure that sensitive data remains secure leaving no trace on the host PC. In addition, Check Point Abra’s Program Control regulates the types of applications installed and accessed by users to protect the corporate network from malware associated with unauthorized applications.
