Enoteca bistro De-signed is a newly opened restaurant in Warsaw’s New Town neighborhood whose genuine Italian feel extends far beyond its name.

The slow-food restaurant is managed by two native Italians, Emanuele Dalnodar and Roberto Guastalla, who themselves grow herbs used in the bistro, along with some vegetables and fruit. They import flour straight from Italy, so that the chef can prepare real pasta fresca, while Parmesan cheese, speck, salami and other Italian delicacies come from the same small producers who provide the goods to the owners’ mothers back in Italy.

Most dishes served at Enoteca bistro De-signed are simple compositions of classic ingredients. The bistro serves pastas with original Italian sauces, for example, with roasted duck and rabbit meat. The menu also features prawns with pepperoncini, garlic and white wine, grilled beef médaillon with strawberries and balsamic reduction sauce, tuna and swordfish carpaccio with lemon olive oil and red pepper, rucola with cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, anchovies, croutons and balsamic dressing, baked cod fillet with green pesto, marinated and grilled vegetables. The dessert menu includes tiramisu and panna cotta with raspberry mousse.

The bistro is located where the Instytut Cafe used to be at 5/7 ¦wiêtojerska St., the building of the Institute of Industrial Design. The restaurant welcomes business customers whom it offers large rooms for closed parties with De-signed catering.
