American guitarist, vocalist, arranger and producer Steve Lukather, best known as a long-time member of the Toto group, will play a concert to promote his latest solo album Feb. 15 at the Proxima club in Warsaw.

Lukather was born in Los Angeles Oct. 21, 1957, and as a child learned to play the keyboards and drums. When he was seven, his father gave him an acoustic guitar and the Meet the Beatles album, which encouraged him to learn to play. Lukather formed his first band, English Muffin, as a seventh grader and together with the band in 1970 he recorded his debut single. In high school, Lukather met David Paich and the Porcaro brothers (Jeff, Steve and Mike), who went on to become members of Toto.

So far, Lukather has released five solo albums blending different music genres such as rock, progressive rock, jazz and funk. Although he is most popular as a member of Toto, Lukather also works as a session musician. Songs he has arranged, composed and recorded are featured on over 800 albums and his collaborations include those with Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Don Henley and Lionel Richie. A 12-time Grammy nominee, Lukather has won the award five times.

His latest solo album, All’s Well That Ends Well, was released in November last year. “I’m very excited because I have some great new music,” says Lukather. “I am trying for a personal best and working very hard on all aspects of music. It’s a journey, that’s for sure.”
