You loved them before so they’re back for more. The Irish dancing and musical extravaganza Lord of the Dance is being performed 12 times in eight Polish cities from March 17 to 28. The Warsaw performances are at Torwar Hall on March 17 and 18.

Lord of the Dance was created by Michael Flatley, a virtuoso step dancer and outstanding choreographer who also serves as the show’s producer and director. Flatley first came to fame with the musical Riverdance (1994). In 1995, he began to create his own show by fusing traditional Irish and modern dance steps in an originally manner. Lord of the Dance is based on popular Irish legends that tell of true love and the never-ending struggle between good and evil. The show was given its world premiere in Dublin in 1996.

The Lord of the Dance troupe have hit the road more frequently than any Irish dance ensemble in history. The show has been performed in over 60 countries on six continents and has been seen by more than 50 million people. It was also beamed out to over 2.5 billion viewers worldwide during the 1997 Academy Awards ceremony.

A specially prepared Polish website entirely devoted to Lord of the Dance was launched in September last year. The site has more information on this extraordinary ensemble, together with photos, videos, and other bits and pieces. There is also a special page dedicated to fans from those cities in which Lord of the Dance will be performed.
