The Federal Republic of Germany is preparing to build a new building in Warsaw which will house the embassy's offices, the consulate and the ambassador's residence. The new building will be located on Jazdów Street, north of the Royal Łazienki Park, and will consist of several structures joined by a glass building.

The three-story building will cover 12,200 sq m. The particular elements of the building will be joined by a glass structure, hosting the embassy's offices. All offices of the institution will be moved to the new headquarters and the future of the consulate's present building in Jazdów is still unknown. The embassy currently works in six buildings, and one of those is the embassy's property.

The exhibition foyer, reception rooms, the ambassador's office and a wintergarden will facilitate the integration of the interior with the yard surrounding the embassy.

The creator of the design is a Berlin architect, Holger Kleine. He studied under Peter Eisenmann in New York City and this is his first building design. So far, he has carried out smaller projects in Berlin and Paris, such as apartment interiors and furniture. He has run his own architecture studio in Berlin since 1999.

The construction permit is expected to be issued before the end of this year. Construction work will commence next year and continue through 2006. The estimated cost is 15.3 million euros.
