SITA Zielona Energia has been chosen as the winning bidder for a project that is part of the largest public-private partnership (PPP) in Poland, the city of Poznań announced on Dec. 21, 2012 .

The project involves financing, designing, building and operating a municipal waste incineration plant. The facility is scheduled to begin operating in 2016 and will enable the city to implement its municipal waste management strategy.

SITA Zielona Energia is a company established by SITA Polska and Marguerite Waste Polska. It was set up for the purpose of taking part in Poland’s first-ever PPP project in waste management. PPP is a model of cooperation between local governments and private operators widely applied in Western Europe.
