Poland is among four EU countries generating more than 80% of its renewable energy from wood and timber waste, while the EU average is less than 50%, Eurostat said.

EU leaders are three Baltic countries, Estonia (96%), Lithuania (88%) and Finland 85%). Poland comes fourth with 81% of its renewable energy generated from wood and timber waste.
