Pole nominated for Oscar

Janusz Kaminski
US-based Janusz Kaminski from Poland, the cinematographer of Steven Spielberg's Lincoln movie, has been nominated for an Academy Award, the list of nominees released on Thursday show.

In all, the movie won 12 nominations for the Oscar, including those for best film, best director, best actor, best supporting actors, as well as best adapted screenplay and costumes.

Kamiński has photographed all of Spielberg's movies since 1993's Schindler's List, with the exception of “Jurassic Park”. Working for Spielberg, he has already won two Academy Awards: in 1993 as the director of photography to „Schindler's List” and in 1998 as director of photography to „Saving Private Ryan”.

This year’s Oscars will be announced at the ceremony in Hollywood on February 24 February.
