Another strong year for retail chain Biedronka

Portuguese retailer Jeronimo Martins's Polish supermarket chain Biedronka recorded EUR 6.73 billion sales in 2012, up 16.3% year on year, thus generating 61.9% of group's total sales, Jeronimo Martins said in a statement with preliminary group results.
"Biedronka posted a growth for the year of 18.0% in zloty (+16.3% in Euro), achieving sales of Euro 6.7 billion," Jeronimo Martins said, adding that LFL sales rose by 6.4% y/y.
" . . .Biedronka had another strong year, executing its investment program with the completion of the layout conversions of more than 1,700 stores and the expansion plan with 263 stores opened," the group said.
Jeronimo Martins group recorded EUR 10.88 billion sales in 2012, up 10.5% y/y.
