January 14, 2013
The famous guide for earthly pleasures - Watsjajana Mallanaga’s Kamasutra, written 1,600 years ago, has now been adapted by Edyta Duda-Olechowska for the Na Woli Theater in Warsaw and will premiere on January 25.
The play directed by Aldona Figura is filled with sensuality, which is not limited to love but enriches us in various dimensions. It tells us in a poetic way how to achieve harmony of body, emotions and mind, how to spend time, celebrate food and drink, who to make friends with, in order to find pleasure in life. Sex is considered here the highest form of pleasure.
The stage decoration has been designed by Jan Kozikowski. The performance features such outstanding Polish actors as Małgorzata Rożniatowska, Joanna Jeżewska, Maria Dejmek, Zdzisław Wardejn, Kamil Siegmund, Piotr Stramowski and Marcin Sitek. Live music is played by Daniel Biel on double bass.
