German health and beauty retailer Rossmann recorded over PLN 5 billion sales in Poland in 2012, up by nearly 17% year on year, the company said in a statement.

Rossmann has increased its sales twofold since 2008, the statement also reads.

Rossmann opened over 100 new outlets in Poland in 2012, bringing the total to over 700 outlets. The chain's market share has risen to 18.7%, the company also said.

Rossmann plans to accelerate its market expansion in 2013 through opening over 150 drugstores and to out the total count at 1,000 at end-2014.
