New thermal pools will open May 1 next year in Uniejów, an idyllic town 50 kilometers west of £ód¼ on the Warta River. The cornerstone for the ambitious project was laid April 15.

Uniejów was given a major boost when it received almost zl.14 million as part of the EU Regional Development Integrated Operational Program for 2004-2006. The town’s flagship project was a new thermal and swimming pool complex comprising three pools complete with attractions such as slides, power showers and a hydromassage unit.

“I am confident that next year, we will open thermal pools four times the size of what we have today, complete with a bowling alley and sanitarium facilities,” said Uniejów mayor Józef Kaczmarek.
