The finals of the Polish Employers’ Cup 2011 doubles tennis tournament will be held June 17-19 at the Arka Tennis Club in Gdynia. The event will be preceded by a string of regional playoffs in six Polish cities: Lubin, Lublin, Warsaw, Poznań, Bydgoszcz, and Gdynia. The finalists will be seeded according to their performance in the regional tournaments. The Warsaw playoffs will take place May 21 at the Tuan Club Sport & Spa.

The Polish Employers’ Cup, held for the seventh time this year, is one of the best known tournaments of its kind in Poland and its popularity keeps growing each year, as does the number of players. The only key requirement for a team to take part in the event is that one player must be a member of an enterprise’s management board, supervisory board or managerial staff.

The organizer, Employers of Poland, conceived the Polish Employers’ Cup as a unique event which, more importantly than results, focuses on promoting a healthy lifestyle, because Polish employers are a group who face a high risk of stress and cardiovascular disease. The tournament is also designed to help the Polish employer community network by providing a platform for business meetings between the participants and the event’s partners.

Employers of Poland (formerly known as the Confederation of Polish Employers) is an independent nonprofit organization of employers established in 1989. It brings together over 7,000 enterprises that employ more than 3 million people. Over 85 percent of members are private businesses. The Employers of Poland organization focuses on enterprise development, the economic growth of Poland and social issues, including social insurance, the labor market and labor law.
