Rafako/Mostostal to build power block in Jaworzno

Consortium of power engineering firm Rafako and builder Mostostal Warszawa placed the best bid of net PLN 4.399 billion in the tender for the construction of a 910 MW coal-fired power block in Jaworzno power plant of energy group Tauron , Tauron said in a market filing.

Competing bids of Chinese consortium of CNEEC and COVEC, Alstom Power and SNC-Lavalin Polska were rejected as they failed to conform with the specification requirements, Tauron said.

The gross value of the offer amounts to PLN 5.41 billion.The contract is slated to be signed in Q2 2013, the filing read.Works are due for completion in 2018, Tauron also said.

Tauron had received four bids, ranging from gross PLN 4.9 billion to PLN 5.96 billion, in October, with the lowest bid submitted by the Chinese consortium.
