Poland’s registered unemployment rate rose to 13.4% in December from 12.9% in November, according to Central Statistical Office (GUS) figures released Thursday.

The figure slightly exceeds the Labor Ministry's prior estimate at 13.3%.

The number of registered jobless at end-December measured 2.14 million.

Unemployment rolls were bolstered by 244,000 registrations, nearly 10,000 or 4% above the prior year inflow. Some 165,400 came off the rolls, a touch below the prior year figure.

Employers sent 35,700 job offers to local job offices, down from 49,100 the prior month and up slightly from 35,100 in December 2011
