Orbis hotelier wants to have 90 hotels in Poland and in the Baltic states at the end of 2015, 70% of which will operate under the "asset-light" model, CEO Laurent Picheral said during a press conference on its development strategy.

So far the company has signed franchise and management agreements for 10 hotels and will add over 1,200 rooms to its network in the period from 2012 to 2014, the CEO added.

Orbis has been implementing the "asset-light" strategy since 2010; the company wants to be a hotel operator rather than owner and to this end seeks sale and leaseback agreements for the hotels it owns. The strategy also assumes the company will seriously limit capex on new hotels.
