Italy's Unicredit sold a 9.1% stake in Warsaw-listed Bank Pekao at PLN 156 per share via accelerated book-building, Unicredit wrote in a statement sent to the Milan stock exchange late Wednesday.

The PLN 3.73 billion deal priced Pekao 4% below the average share price from the last three months, Unicredit said.

Unicredit plans no further sale of Pekao shares after closing this transaction, CEO Frederico Ghizzoni said as cited in the statement.

Means from the deal will be used to finance operations in Central and Eastern Europe, the institution also said, stressing that Pekao remained its core asset in this part of Europe.
