MPs of the liberal Palikot Movement (RP) have filed a option to recall Wanda Nowicka (RP) from the post of deputy Sejm Speaker, RP deputy head Artur Debski said on Monday.

The Palikot Movement caucus withdrew its support for Nowicka two weeks ago, after it has been announced that Nowicka, like remaining members of the Sejm presidium, received a financial bonus for the year 2012.

Last week, RP caucus members decided that the party's candidate for the deputy speaker will be MP Anna Grodzka.

Each of the six largest political parties sitting in the Polish parliament is entitled to a deputy speaker. Palikot Movement – Poland’s third largest party in the lower house of parliament - commands 43 seats in Poland's 460-seat lower house of parliament.

Grodzka is believed to be the world's only current transsexual member of parliament. She needs to win a simple majority but lawmakers from the main opposition conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party -- which commands 138 seats -- have already said they will not vote for Grodzka.
