February 6, 2013
Polish railway PKP decided to suspend the sale of its telecom unit TK Telekom due to unsatisfactory offers and will re-launch the process within six months, after adjusting the unit's structure to better meet investors' demands, PKP said in a press statement.
"We have made the decision to withhold the process because we did not receive sufficiently satisfactory final offers," the statement read. "We decided to adjust the structure of TK Telekom to the needs of investors who represented exclusively telecom sector."
PKP has been in parallel negotiations over TK Telekom with telco Netia, GTS and a consortium of Hawe and IT Polpager since September 2012. The entire privatization process was kicked off in September 2011.
