EU Presidency in Cartoons

Poland’s turn at the presidency of the EU has inspired the latest exhibition at the Museum of Cartoon Art and Caricature. Polish cartoonists featured in the exhibition look at the presidency with their tongues firmly in cheek, stripping it of pomp and circumstance.

The exhibition comprises works by 12 cartoonists, including Edward Lutczyn, Andrzej Mleczko and Marek Raczkowski. Some of the cartoons and caricatures take on the history of Europe, with special focus on antiquity, which gave rise to European culture. Most of the displayed works, however, explore current problems in the EU and the place of Poland in Europe. Some adopt a general and symbolic approach, but most take on particular topics and problems.

The exhibition comes with a catalogue in English. The Warsaw Voice is a media partner of the event.
