The 6th Outsourcing Forum, an event for outsourcing industry professionals, was held by the Roadshow Polska company at the Westin hotel in Warsaw June 17. The event was combined with the second conference of the Association of Business Service Leaders in Poland (ABSL).

The main topic of both events was Poland’s position on the global market for business services and the latest trends in the development of the business services sector in both Poland and worldwide. The conference attracted participants from both the public and private sectors, including service providers, investors, central and local government officials, and potential customers.Guests of honor included Michał Boni, head of the prime minister’s team of strategic advisers, who spoke about the conditions needed to develop an innovative business service sector in Poland. Another guest of honor was Rafał Baniak, undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Economy, who has long supported the development of Poland’s BPO sector.Nearly 200 guests had an opportunity to learn about the latest ABSL report, which indicates that Poland’s BPO/SSC sector is developing faster than its counterparts in other countries in Central and Eastern Europe. During a series of speeches and panel discussions, conference participants dealt with issues including opportunities for the sector’s development and barriers to the development of outsourcing services in Poland and the role of local governments in supporting investment in the BPO sector. The Outsourcing Forum and the ABSL conference showed that a lot still needs to be done to educate the public in Poland about outsourcing and to support the development of the BPO/SSC sector in this country even though Poland already has a strong position internationally in this area.
