Poland's January CPI surprises downside with 1.7pct reading

Poland's January consumer prices were up 1.7% year on year and up by 0.1% month on month versus consensus expectations for 2.0% y/y, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in a statement.

Analysts surveyed by PAP Polish news agency expected monthly CPI to measure by 0.1% in January.
