Born in Jerusalem 27 years ago, Yasmin Levy was introduced to Ladino singing and culture from a very young age. Her father Yitzhak was a researcher of Judeo-Spanish culture, a romantic musical tradition that dates back to 15th-century Spain. In her deep, spiritual and moving style of singing, Yasmin Levy preserves and revives the most beautiful songs from the Ladino/Judeo-Spanish heritage, mixing it with Andalusian Flamenco.

Her debut album Romance & Yasmin in Ladino style created a stir among world music lovers across the globe, much as her next album La Juderia, featuring Ladino and Flamenco music.

Levy has performed at a number of international festivals and events, including WOMAD Singapore, Forum Barcelona, and the BBC’s New Year’s Day concert in London.

She has been nominated for the BBC World Music Awards for three consecutive years. She is constantly touring Britain, Europe and the United States, where she had her debut performance at New York’s Carnegie Hall in December 2005.
