“Faith Healer” (Cudotwórca), a masterpiece about the life of faith healer Francis Hardy written by one of the greatest Irish dramatists Brian Friel will premiere on the Dramatyczny Theater’s small stage on March 1.

As monologued through the shifting memories of Hardy, his wife, Grace, and stage manager, Teddy the play tells the story of their journeys through remote Welsh, Scottish and Irish villages where they give performances during which Frank attempts to cure the sick and suffering.

The play invites the audience to turn detective. All three characters tell the same story, which reaches its climax in a remote pub in County Donegal, but the emphasis, the perspective and even the basic facts change dramatically in each version. We have to establish our own version of the truth, and analyze why the characters sometimes depart from it.

The play is directed by Wawrzyniec Kostrzewski. The stage and costumes are designed by Marta D±browska-Okrasko.

The three characters are played by prominent Polish actors: Adam Ferency(Frank), Marta Król (Grace) and Andrzej Blumenfeld (Teddy).
