A musical spectacular entitled „Édith and Marlene” directed by a renown Hungarian film director Márta Mészáros and staged by Mazowiecki Teatr Muzyczny im. Jana Kiepury (the Jan Kiepura Masovian Musical Theater) will premiere on March 5.

The play written by a Hungarian playwright Éva Pataki tells a story about longtime friendship between two outstanding artists - Édith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich. It shows two different personalities, two temperaments - the reserved Marlene and spontaneous Édith. Their common passion for music brought them together.

The spectacle features most famous pieces form their repertoires.
The audience will have a chance to hear „La vie en rose”, „Padam, padam” and „Milord” once sang by Piaf as well as the famous „Ich bin von kopf bis fuss auf liebe eingestellt” from the movie „Blue Angel”, where Dietrich was starring.

The main roles in “Édith and Marlene” will be performed respectively by Anna Sroka-Hryñ and Halina Mlynkova (this will be her theater debut). The cast includes also Ewa Telega, Bartosz Opania, Les³aw ¯urek, Julian Mere. Pawe³ Szczesny and Arkadiusz Brykalski.
