Netia telecommunications operator will buy a portion of infrastructure of former cable TV operator Aster from UPC Poland , which will allow it to get access to 446,000 premises, thus increasing Netia's own network reach by 17% to 2.8 million homes & businesses, Netia said in a press statement.

The infrastructure to be taken over is located in Warsaw and Cracow and was designated for resale by the competition office UOKiK as part of its clearance of the takeover of Aster by UPC Poland in 2011.
Details of the deal will be released once the final deal is signed, the company said.
