EIB plans to lend record EUR 5.5bn to Poland this year
March 8, 2013
The European Investment Bank (EIB) plans to have a portfolio of credits issued to Poland of around EUR 5.5 billion in 2013 and a similar level in 2014-2015, EIB deputy CEO Anton Rop told a press conference.
"We expect that the value of loans in Poland in 2013 will rise to EUR 5.5 billion in the framework of 45 projects," Rop said. "If we succeed, it will be a record-high level of EIB exposure to Poland."
The bank plans to maintain that level in 2014 and 2015.
"I think that in the years 2014-2015 we will be able to hold the level close to that in 2013," Rop also said.
EIB's engagement in Poland in 2012 amounted to EUR 4.4 billion via financing of 31 projects.
