Paths of Hate, a Polish short animated movie directed by Damian Nenow, was named best professional short film at the 19th Anima Mundi International Animation Festival held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in mid-July.

Paths of Hate, produced last year by Platige Image, is an action comic book adapted for the big screen. The movie is a tale of struggle, of blind hatred and destructive fury which lead to total destruction.

Nenow, who wrote the script, said that he also wanted to come up with a movie to entertain viewers. “But on the other hand, I wanted Paths of Hate to be more than yet another special effects extravaganza packed with wrestling, gigantic robots and trolls.”

In late June, Paths of Hate took home the best animated film award and the judges’ choice award at a film festival held in New York as part of Comi-Con International, the most important event on America’s comic book scene.
