Poland's January C/A deficit hits EUR 1.546bn - NBP

Poland recorded a current account deficit of EUR 1.546 billion in January, in line with the expected deficit of EUR 1.544 billion and deeper than the December level of EUR 1.2 billion, according to central bank figures released Thursday.
Poland sported a trade surplus of EUR 5 million in January.
Exports of goods increased by 7.3% year on year to EUR 12.178 billion. The consensus forecast put export increase at 6.0%.
Imports edged up by 1.1% year on year to EUR 12.173 billion. The analysts surveyed by PAP expected January imports to increase by 3.3%.
Poland sported a surplus on services of EUR 274 million in January, a negative balance on income of EUR 1.546 billion and a negative balance on current transfers at EUR 279 million.
