Poland-based life insurers posted a PLN 3.28 billion net profit in 2012, up by 12.4% year on year, while property insurers increased their net profit by 9.7% y/y to PLN 3.39 billion in 2012, insurers' chamber PIU said in a statement.

Insurers collected PLN 62.6 billion in written premiums in 2012, including PLN 36.4 billion in the life segment (up by over 14% y/y) and PLN 26.2 billion in other personal insurance and in property insurance (up by 3.8% y/y), the statement showed.
