Estampas Porteñas, one of the best tango groups in the world, are coming to Warsaw for their first Polish performance Oct. 22 at the Kongresowa Hall. The performers are bringing their latest and most spectacular show, entitled Tango Feeling.

Formed in Buenos Aires in 1996 by ballerina and choreographer Carolina Soler, Estampas Porteñas have proved a hit around the world, astonishing audiences and critics alike wherever they tour. Apart from technical perfection and enthralling performances, Estampas Porteñas are widely praised for respecting tradition and reaching right to the roots of tango with all its splendor and wealth, something that many other tango ensembles seem to forget about these days.

Estampas Porteñas consists exclusively of seasoned dancers selected from top Argentinian dance schools and groups. They are joined by vocalists and an orchestra conducted by Emiliano Greco. Choreography by Soler forms an ideal whole with the music when tunes from the bandoneón, guitars and violins blend with sensual, powerful and sophisticated dance moves and the passionate voices of Javier di Ciriaco and Esteban Rier. To date, Estampas Porteñas have performed before more than 700,000 people in Europe, the United States, Africa and Asia.

If you are partial to the kind of bizarre innovation which other Argentinian dance ensembles seem to pursue with a passion, don’t hold your breath, because you will find none of that in the new Tango Feeling show.

This is actually the chief asset of Tango Feeling, as it revisits the very origins of tango to show what this art form is really about. Tango Feeling evokes a wide variety of emotions ranging from love and desire to jealousy and anger. What you will see at the Kongresowa Hall are sensuous, elegant and technically perfect moves by female dancers wearing glorious dresses that float in the air, swirling around the legs of the handsome male dancers. You will hear beautiful Argentinian songs which will transport you all the way to Buenos Aires, the city where tango was born.
