Internet banking clients in Poland grow in number

Polish banks had 11.36 million active individual clients of internet banking services, up by over 12% in annual terms, a report by a banking lobby ZBP shows.

The number of individual clients with access to internet banking services increased by almost 17.1% to 20.8 million, the report said.

Among SMEs, some 1.15 million clients actively used internet banking services at end-2012, which translates to a 2.47% year on year increase.

Average monthly value of internet banking transactions in Q4 2012 amounted to PLN 6,100 (up 1.7% y/y) for individual clients and PLN 53,000 for SMEs (down 1.9% y/y), the statement read.
