The new Polish DTH platform nc+, the result of a merger between Polish pay TV operators Cyfra Plus and ‘n’, was officially launched in Warsaw on March 21.

Christian Anting, a member of the nc+board responsible for its content and offer, said that the date was symbolic in that it not only marked the start of spring but also the 18th anniversary of Canal+’s entry into Poland.

He also said that the new platform has the best offer on the Polish market with customer being able to choose from a large number of packages.

nc+ offers six basic subscriptions, ranging from PLN 39 for 70 channels to PLN 199 for 130 channels. All packages come with a number of HD channels, and a choice of six Canal+ -branded channels are offered from the second-cheapest plan at PLN 59.

A VoD service is included from the Gold plan at PLN 99, the mobile service nc+ Go comes with the two most expensive packages, and multiroom access for up to six TVs is included in the top package.

The new platform launched with around 2.6 million subscribers, some 1 million fewer than the market leader Cyfrowy Polsat. Other competitors in the market include UPC Polska, Multimedia Polska and Vectra.
