End Time Ballads

After a series of well-received concerts in May, the British brand Crippled Black Phoenix are coming back to Poland with more of their apocalyptic ballads. This time fans will be able to enjoy the band’s music at the Blue Note Club in Poznań Nov. 8 and at the Progresja club in Warsaw Nov. 9.

Crippled Black Phoenix formed in 2004. Since then their music has been pigeonholed as doom metal, post rock or freak folk. But none of these genres fully defines or limits what they do. Their unique sound, described by the musicians themselves as “end time ballad,” is created by a combination of various folk instruments such as the banjo with classical ones like the cello.

The band has recorded four albums to date and are busy working on their fifth entitled (Mankind) The Crafty Ape, which will be released early next year.
