The Belgian Business Chamber (BBC), aided by economic representatives from the Belgian regions of Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels, organized Belgian Days in Warsaw, Gdańsk and Poznań for the 13th time Nov. 14-25. The motto of this year’s event was “Discover an Enterprising Belgium.” The project was held under the auspices of the Belgian ambassador to Poland.

The aim of the event was to spread knowledge about Belgium in Poland, and to promote the country’s business and culture.

This year’s Belgian Days started with the King’s Day, a reception organized by the Belgian embassy and hosted by ambassador Raoul Delcorde on Nov. 15, a Belgian national holiday. The reception was attended by a host of prominent diplomats and business and culture leaders in Poland.

During the Belgian Days, Polish and Belgian firms could meet and forge contacts with potential business partners at a business dinner organized by Flanders Investment & Trade. They were also able to exchange experiences during a seminar on innovation in business entitled “An Impulse for Innovation: The Benefits of New Technologies in Business.”

More informal events included the “Mussels & Fries” evening, which provided an insight into Belgian art, music, painting, languages and cuisine, including the famous Belgian mussels and fries. In recognition of their contribution to developing Polish-Belgian economic and trade relations, this year’s Belgian Business Award was presented to the Ambassador of Belgium, Raoul Delcorde, the Trade Representatives of Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels, the Representative of the Flemish Community and Region in Warsaw, and the Delegate of Wallonie-Bruxelles International in Warsaw.
