Warsaw-related topics are the leading theme of Attracted to Warsaw, an exhibition of works by contemporary visual artists on display at Terminal 1 of the capital’s international airport.

The exhibition is part of a project called Art Gallery at Chopin Airport run by the airport together with National Museum in Warsaw and the Zachęta National Gallery of Art. The latter has kicked off a string of events in the new exhibition space by putting together the Attracted to Warsaw exhibition.

The exhibition includes photographs by Leonard Sempoliński dating back to the 1950s. The images document Warsaw’s history, depicting buildings in the oldest part of the city along with buildings which at the time were under construction and now are part of the capital’s architectural canon.

In contrast, large-format, futuristic photo-montages by Kobas Laksa conjure up visions of future life in Warsaw.
