Paco Peña Flamenco Dance Company
February 23, 2012
Article's tools:

Brilliant guitarist, composer and music producer Paco Peña is widely regarded as the world’s most talented virtuoso of the flamenco guitar. He and his Paco Peña Flamenco Dance Company, formed in 1970, ooze passion and energy. The group are coming to Poland with a new show entitled Flamenco Vivo.

Peña started playing the guitar at the tender age of six and it only took him a few years to start performing as a professional musician. Flamenco, the national treasure of Spain, is Peña’s natural home, yet he also plays Latin jazz, blues and European classical music.

Peña has many recordings and albums under his belt, but feels most at home performing live on stage. Since 1970, he has performed with a group of vocalists, musicians and flamenco dancers known as the Paco Peña Flamenco Dance Company. The group have given concerts at some of the world’s best theater venues, with regular appearances at the Royal Festival Hall in London and Sadler’s Wells Theater and the Barbican. The musicians also perform regularly at festivals in Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Athens, Israel and Singapore.

Flamenco Vivo is a delightful and perfectly synchronized combination of three aspects of flamenco: dance, singing and music.
