The familiar tastes of Switzerland are cheese, chocolate and wine, but there is much more besides. Switzerland invites you to break away from the beaten track and sample the thousand and one savors of its regions. Fruit, vegetables, meat, fish from the lakes and rivers, wines, cheese and desserts all contribute to make up menus which add color and taste to your stay.

Beyond the great classic Swiss specialties such as cheese fondue, raclette and dried meat, Switzerland offers many more gourmet delights. In Geneva, why not sample a gratin of cardoons, a vegetable classified AOC (of designated origin), accompanied by a Geneva vintage wine? The Canton of Geneva is home to Switzerland’s third largest vineyard area after the Cantons of Vaud and Valais. In Zug, a kirsch (cherry liquor) tart awaits you, preferably to be washed down with a glass of this precious liquid. If you are in the Jura region, do not miss the Tete de Moine cheese, pared into delicate rosettes. This is no more than a brief selection of all the delicious surprises that await you in Switzerland.
