Janusz Palikot and Marek Siwiec
Europa Plus, founded by leftwing MEP and Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) renegade Marek Siwiec, liberal leader Janusz Palikot and former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski in order to run a joint centre-left list for the next EP elections presented its program on Thursday.

"Generally speaking we're a movement of radically fundamental pro-Europeans, people who want more integration, who are not afraid of the (...) EU's federalization and want a common European currency", said Siwiec, who currently heads the movement.

Palikot referred to the European Commission chairman Jose Manuel Barroso's statements about a future federated Europe. "In a few years' time Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany will be in one state, federal Europe. This may seem shocking today but it's a realistic project which occupies the thoughts of Europe's leading politicians", Palikot said.

In its program declaration Europa Plus strongly supports Poland's access to the euro zone, streamlining the administration, the introduction of new technologies, charge-free web access, more financing for health, R&D, education and culture.
