Money from the Agricultural Market Agency for promoting traditional, regional and organic food

For several years the European Union has been supporting food producer groups in their informational and promotional activities. The aim is to stimulate the demand for agri-food products covered by food quality systems, support producer groups formed by businesses actively participating in such systems, and increase consumer interest in the quality of food, its characteristics and benefits.

Who can apply?
- Entities that produce food in Poland under food quality systems (EU Certification System of Regional and Traditional Products, Organic Farming, Integrated Production, Quality and Tradition) and are associated in producer groups. A producer group is defined as an organization with any form of legal status that brings together producers of high-quality food.
- Entities that operate under cooperative law (dairy cooperatives, district cooperatives etc.) and which produce—or have members that produce—food under food quality systems.
What kinds of projects are eligible for grants?
Grants are awarded to all kinds of projects carried out exclusively on the EU internal market (public relations, advertising, participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, seminars, training courses, publications etc.) and undertaken either as one-off projects (e.g. the publication of a brochure) or coordinated campaigns lasting a maximum of two years (e.g. regular participation in trade fairs, accompanied by press advertisements, TV commercials and outdoor advertising for these events), but no longer than until June 30, 2015. Campaigns cannot promote private brands but have to focus on unique features of products, production cycle, inspection systems and quality standards. The aim is to raise consumer awareness of products, the production cycle, inspection systems and quality standards. Irrespective of the type of project, the funds are disbursed to beneficiaries as refunds totaling 70 percent of actually incurred eligible costs. No other kind of public funds may be awarded to such projects.

Preparing an application
Application forms are available from the agency’s website:
www.arr.gov.pl in the section marked “Promocja Żywno¶ci – promocja ze ¶rodków PROW 2007-2013”
