Poland's Democratic Party (PD) on Monday finalized talks on joining the Europa Plus pro-European movement by signing an agreement on political cooperation.
PD's leader Andrzej Celinski, addressing a press conference attended by former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, said he hopes that "together we can raise the level of values in Polish politics."
„We must unite, we must communicate and talk about a program of solving issues vital for people," Celinski said.
Europa Plus, founded by Kawsniewski, leftwing MEP and Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) renegade Marek Siwiec, and liberal leader Janusz Palikot in order to run a joint centre-left list for the next EP elections.
In its program declaration Europa Plus strongly supports Poland's access to the euro zone, streamlining the administration, the introduction of new technologies, charge-free web access, more financing for health, R&D, education and culture.
