Article's tools:

International pharmaceutical company Actavis has launched a nationwide educational campaign for patients and caregivers of people suffering from chronic disease.

The campaign, called Pozwól na Wsparcie (Allow Yourself to Be Helped), aims to provide support to patients and their caregivers so that they can cooperate with physicians in the fight to overcome disease.

The campaign is targeted at the general public in Poland, with a particular emphasis on patients suffering from cardiovascular disease, metabolic, oncological and psychiatric disorders and on those looking after people suffering from chronic conditions.

“In the campaign, we want to offer advice on how to overcome patients’ fear of disease, how to talk about disease and from whom and where people can get support,” says Sylwia ¦wistak-Sawa, a psychooncologist at the Oncology Center/Maria-Skłodowska Curie Institute in Warsaw.

The campaign comprises educational and informational activities, including the organization of workshops for physicians on effective communication with patients.

A special guidebook will be distributed with information on how to provide support to patients and caregivers.

Actavis Group is the fourth largest player on the generic medicines market. It is a leader on the market for the development, production and sale of quality generic medicines. Actavis Group employs more than 10,000 in over 40 countries.
