Selected posters submitted for this year’s Warsaw International Poster Biennale are on display at the Wilanów Poster Museum until Sept. 16. Viewers have a rare opportunity to see the fresh ideas and humor pouring out from some of the world’s greatest poster artists.

The exhibition features posters from around the world, including the winners of the biennale’s gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 2,165 works from 49 countries were submitted for this year’s international biennale. Those shown at the Wilanów Poster Museum are the 675 best submissions, selected by an international panel of judges.

The International Poster Biennale, first held in Warsaw in 1966, is the oldest event of its kind in the world. Its long history and special atmosphere have earned it a reputation as the most important poster biennale in the world.

The Wilanów Poster Museum, a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw, boasts a collection of 55,000 art posters, of which 33,000 were produced in Poland.
