Jazz bassist, composer and singer Avishai Cohen will perform in Warsaw Oct. 18 as part of a series of concerts sponsored by Deutsche Bank.

One of the most fascinating and sought-after jazz musicians of the past decade, Cohen has been called a jazz visionary by Down Beat music magazine. Cohen’s career in jazz took off when he started working with Chick Corea. His other collaborations on stage and in the recording studio include Bobby McFerrin, Herbie Hancock, Paquito D’Rivera and Danilo Perez. He formed his first bands and made the first recordings under his own name in 1998. Since then, Cohen has been releasing approximately one album a year and making appearances at all major jazz festivals in the world.

Cohen has recently made a name for himself because of his technique of playing the double-bass and singing at the same time.
