Poland's banking sentiment indicator Pengab increased by 5.2 pts month on month in July to 11.3 pts, according to the Union of Polish Banks (ZBP) and market researcher TNS Polska.

"The July index reading shows that the banking sector has worst behind it," TNS Polska official Andrzej Olekiewicz said during a conference. "The indicator improvement is primarily a result of assessment of sentiment in consumer loans, but the assessment of the housing segment is also improving."

Longer term, in 6-month horizon, expectations for housing loans are at 42 pts, up 7 pts m/m. Forecasts for consumer loans increased 8 pts to 58 pts. Forecasts for business loans were also up: by 4 pts to 46 pts for investment loans and by 6 pts to 64 pts for working capital loans.
